Jakkai Siributr is one of Southeast Asia’s leading contemporary artists. He works primarily with textile and embroidery. The interaction of Buddhism and materialism in modern life; and the everyday popular culture of Thailand are at the heart of Siributr’s art. His meticulously handmade tapestry and installation works make powerful statements about religious, social, and political issues in contemporary Thailand. He currently lives and works in Bangkok.
